About Linda

2023-05-08 06.04.42My name is Linda and I lived in the Chicago area all of my life until God recently moved us to Colorado Springs to live close to all of our children and grandchildren.

After graduating from college and teaching elementary school for six years, I married my husband Ray and found great joy in staying home to raise the three children God blessed us with. It was during those years that I fell in love with God’s Word and developed a hunger to know Him that only grows more each day.  In 1997 I joined the staff of The Orchard Evangelical Free Church in Arlington Heights, IL as Co-Director of Children’s Ministry. Nine years later I was given the privilege of becoming the first official Director of Women’s Ministry there, where I served until  I retired in February 2021.

Throughout my life I have enjoyed expressing what God is teaching me in a personal journal. This eventually became a monthly publication that I wrote for the women of our church. I have also been privileged to write some blog posts for the True Woman blog at Revive our Hearts as well as Unlocking the Bible’s blog.

When I am not serving women or writing, I am likely either reading or spending time with some of the ten grandchildren who fill my life with joy and fresh opportunities to pray and see God do His wondrous works.

God has used writing as a tool to help me preach the gospel to myself each day, as I am so prone to forget. Because I’ve learned that there is no temptation that is not common to “women” (1 Corinthians 10:13) no matter where you are in your own journey, I invite you to read along and participate in this blog.

  1. Funny the phrase “morbid introspection ” actually came to mind the other day. I love that the Lord would whisper a key phrase to my heart to remind me He is near and guiding me into all truth. Thank you for choosing such penetrating Scriptures and crafting together such wise counsel. They hit the target of my heart. Future grace, Christ above, the finished work of Christ. Mhm…taste and see His goodness. Thank you!

  2. Hello sister Linda. I read your article about waiting on God via Unlocking the Bible… I’ve been well taught, knew and agreed with all that you wrote; although after 8 years of being juggled about, losing everything (and I do mean practically everything, roof over my head, family etc…) and still waiting on the Lord for certain things, it’s nice to simply read an encouraging word from someone about it. The LORD has been good to me, some may not agree, so I often have to hide a lot of what I’ve been through. I received great healing in the midst of waiting, so I continue to wait.

I wish I could meet you and you could meet my mentor. With what I have read on this page, you would get along… but we are in England, UK. Maybe one day by God’s grace.
    God bless you.

    1. My dear sister,
Thank you for your comment. I do wish I could meet you and hear your story, as well as meet your mentor. For sure we will meet in glory one day and be able to share in each other’s joy! I completely understand what you mean by experiencing God’s goodness and healing even in the midst of loss and heartache, even as we wait and long for Him to redeem and restore what will bring Him glory through our lives. I am praying Romans 15:13 for you as I just read and prayed myself this morning: “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.”
      Warmly in Christ,
      Linda

  3. Thank you Linda for delivering a message to me from God. Regarding your article “Four Influential Women of the Bible (and What They Teach Us).” It is with heavy heart…I ask for fervent prayer for someone (Maricella), who just found out she has stage 4 breast cancer that has spread to her liver. Please pray for her. I need prayer warriors. I have none. Thank you.

    1. Hello Donna, I am so sorry to hear of your friend. I trust she knows the Lord and understands the truth of the gospel. How blessed she is to have a friend who can remind her of truth at a time when faith is so greatly tested. I am lifting a prayer for Maricella now. The Lord knows your need and will provide according to His wisdom to all who come to Him through His Son Jesus Christ. “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit” Psalm 34:18. You can trust the One who loves you and gave His life for you.
